History Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh This is a brief history of how this site became searchsikhism.com. The reason I am writing this is because many people ask me questions which I think will be answered here. I first started making a web site back in 1998. I started with angelfire and made one page containing only Sikh links. But what I had in my mind was to make a web site that would help Sikhs and non-Sikhs learn about Sikhism. I had no knowledge about websites. So I had this one page for quite a long time which I would update regularly and put more links on it. Then I learned about making webpages using Frontpage. So I made couple of pages with a brief introduction to Sikhism and some links. My friends encouraged me to make it better. I moved my site to geocities then tripod and tried many free services. Then I finally thought about buying my own domain. By that time I had much more information on my web site. I bought sikh-info.com and published my site. I kept it for about a year. This is why I have sikh-info.com name on some of the pictures. Searchsikhism.com used to be sikh-info.com. It cost me a lot of money so I went back to free service. Then this site became fauj.3giga.com which became popular in a very short time. I only had it up for six months. I found a very cheap hosting package which I bought. I tried buying back sikh-info but someone had bought that already. Then I had to choose a new name and for quite a while I could not decide which one to choose. Finally, searchsikhism.com came to my mind and it was available so I bought it. When I first launched this site it was made with Frontpage. I kept looking for a new layout and finally found one with frames. But you all know the problems with frames when it comes to search engines and stuff and I got bored by looking at it. So I made this layout. I do not think I will be changing it again because it took lot of work to change everything.
